Bed and Breakfast Package:
No visit to Charleston and the Historic Mills House Hotel is complete without visiting our renowned Barbadoes Dining Room for breakfast.
According to CNN Travel, “It’s worth it to pay extra for a breakfast or brunch in the Barbadoes Room. A culinary lineup of Southern Classics is downed in front of a private garden worthy of an aristocrat.” (CNN Travel, April 15, 2010, Hotels Worth Your Tax Refund).
The Barbadoes Room was named for the extensive trade between the West Indies and the Carolina Colony. Considered by many to be a “colony of a colony”, many of Charleston’s oldest families have rich ties to Barbadoes. Find the “Barbadoes Restaurant” sign in our fountain courtyard. It is from Paris and dates to 1870. This is also the source for the unique spelling of Barbadoes.
When you select the Bed and Breakfast Package, you will receive:
- Two complimentary breakfasts per day in our incredible dining room
